I walk along the empty road, and wonder
Why the silence roars like thunder.
There’s nothing in sight but the road and me
Where’s the world I used to see?
Ten hundred miles I thought were ahead
When suddenly I saw instead
Clutched in the light, this long road seemed
Much smaller than I had deemed.
Bemused by how short the road turned out, I
Refused to just sit and die.
